Today I am 4 days sober from alcohol. It may not be a long time, but i am working towards my recovery. I’m not exactly sure how this platform works, but I’m here
.
Welcome Sara.
Congratulations on your 4 days. That first for days was a really long time for me.
This is a great sober community. Have a good read around. There are lots of wonderful people here to help give and get support from. People in all stages of sobriety. You are not alone.
Find a thread you feel comfortable with and join in when you’re ready.
The gratitude thread is my fave.
If you have questions about anything. Anything at all. Just ask. There’s always someone around willing to help out.

there you are like i came a couple days before you . i guess this works the way you do it . write and / or read .
wishing you all the best . let’s stay on this road !
Welcome! Glad you’re here! A few recommendations:
Be proactive.
Make a plan for what to do when cravings hit. Then do it.
Be active on Talking Sober. Get in the habit of checking it just as frequently as (or instead of) other social media. Even if it is just to lurk on threads. Allow yourself to learn lessons from other people’s experiences and perspectives.
A relapse is not an acceptable “reward" for a sober streak milestone.
One day at a time.
Have a great (sober) rest of your day!
Welcome

Having a plan and surrounding yourself with support is key to being successful in this journey.

The daily check in thread is also a great space for you to check in as many times as you need and to connect with others. Checking in daily to maintain focus #86
I am glad you found us. Hope to see you around ![]()
Honestly, I have just been focusing on work and my children. When I have an urge to drink Ive been grabbing a watter bottle and throwing it back. Ive probably folded 10 loads of laundry today to keep myself busy.
Welcome and congrats on your 4 days!!! Keep drinking that water, staying hydrated helps!
Hi! Im new too. Congratulations on day 4! Keep it up!
Doing it just for one day, 24 hours, that is the key point. Each day has its own concern. This works for me. And, always from my point of view, try not to be anger. Being anger is some kind of luxury that, as an alcoholic, I cannot bear with. You can do this!
Hey there …. How are you doing ?? I hope you are feeling better every day. Give us an update.

Congratulations on a week! That is actually huge. It may only seem like seven days but hear me out. You have now gone through your schedule week/weekends without a drink, that is amazing. Also, you should be over the hump of any physical effects and now you’re just gonna feel better and better, especially sleep. They go hand-in-hand you should be proud of yourself! Welcome to the club.
Just what I needed to hear today !!! I hope you never have to experience early sobriety ever again ![]()
